Vagabond's Roadhouse
International Barbecue Creating Community, and Filling Stomachs
About Vagabond's Roadhouse
Vagabond's Roadhouse is an Indigenous-owned food truck in development that will be dedicated to serving communities in need of good and new food with exceptional and meaningful social impact. Born from a lifetime of culinary passion—growing up with a chef father, smoking meats for community gatherings, and traveling coast to coast to experience regional cuisines—we bring authentic flavors and hope to one day bring a zero-waste, farm-to-table food trailer to the area. Our mission is to deliver great food at neighborhood prices while building a culture of caring for each other.
We specialize in smoked meats and plant-based alternatives served on traditional Native frybread, tortilla, wrapped in Masa and a hoja, or served on a homemade roll, infused with international flavors and sourced from local suppliers as much as possible. We offer discounts for union members, families, Native tribe members, elderly and local college students. We partner with other creative food makers to pursue their dreams by connecting them to food lovers and helping them legally sell food. We will focus on serving the late night crowd and offer a rotating list of specials to explore other flavors our staff is craving, Vagabond's Roadhouse is more than a food truck—it's a movement toward food justice, cultural celebration, and community empowerment.
Our Offerings
Frybread Tacos, Bahn Mi, Tamales, and More
Authentic barbecue and smoked meats served on traditional Native frybread with international flavors. Crafted using nose-to-tail butchery and locally-sourced ingredients for exceptional quality at neighborhood pricing. Every dish has a unique story of how it came to be part of the food I come to cook regularly. Sometimes I dove, hunted or fished for it myself. Other time I was given it in the back alley after close, and sometimes I was being treated to a nice dinner by a longtime friend I'm meeting for the first time. Every story made the flavors you have today.
Accessible Menu for Special Dietary Needs
Whether its meat alternatives, gluten free care taking, delivery to nearby residents, lent accessible offerings, or people who just need something simple like buttered noodles, our menu tries to provide a variety for often forgotten customer bases, while still pleasing the average miner off to work 6 shifts in a row. We will have homemade cake and hand pies, as well as homemade ice artisinal ice creams to have on top the fry bread. We also want to work with you to serve your work site if you have 8 or more people willing to buy food. Just contact us below!
Community Initiatives and Events
Special discounts for union members, Native nations, healthcare workers, and local college students. We partner with emerging food makers to help them launch their culinary dreams while giving back to the communities we serve through meaningful social initiatives. We have several ideas in mind we can't wait to share more details about, as well as, we cannot wait to participate in the already existing community and culture that made the UP the obvious choice for this project. We also offer pig roasts and other catering options you can learn more about by contacting us
